Update on Soccer Activity

Dear Escondido Soccer Club – FC Heat Families,

We know everyone is anxious and excited to get back to Ryan Park fields and so are we! We want to share a few proactive steps we have taken in the past few weeks while we await official approval from the government to resume activity.

We have created a Return to Play Committee that includes Coaches, Parents and Board Members. They have been working relentlessly alongside our Recreational, Competitive and Tournament Committees. The primary focus of this group is to ensure safety for coaches, volunteers and players. Then returning to the fields with a solid safety plan in place.

We are working closely with the SD County and City officials to create a Safety Protocol Plan for youth sports to return to play. As the State moves into Phase 2, SD County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar has taken the lead with the SD Game-On Initiative. We would like to thank Supervisor Gaspar for her support, leadership and action in providing us with the “Phase 2 Acceleration Plan.” This plan has been approved by San Diego County. We are now awaiting the approval of Governor Newsom.

In short, we have a plan. Not only is our team working tirelessly to get our kids back to the fields, but also over the last few weeks our competitive coaches have worked extremely hard to provide at-home training sessions in this challenging environment.

In order to further assist you financially, we have again adjusted your Competitive Club Fee payment schedule, so that your June 1st 2020 payment is not due until the end of your contract.

As always, we want to thank our families for supporting us through these times. Our coaches and staff eternally thank you for your patience and understanding as we wade through these unchartered territories. We hope this helps you to understand our strategy to continue to serve our players and families.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions. Remember to check our website, newsletters and social feeds for updates.

Yours in Unity,
Escondido Soccer Club – FC Heat
